One of the more obscure stories in King’s arsenal, In the Tall Grass follows a brother and sister as they venture into a field after hearing a young boy cry for help. What makes Midnight Mass stand out are the complexities layered within the storytelling. The truth is, the Halloween movie series is VERY confusing as only some of the films follow on from each other and those that do are kind of all over the place. It manages to chronicle late twenty something malaise with refreshing authenticity throughout its 12 chapters, thanks to its impeccable Oscar nominated screenplay and mesmerising, honest performances.

Now I’ll be the first to admit I have not seen all of the films simply because no matter what the franchise is after so many prequels and sequels I get sort of burned out and move on to something else.
